By using the "Pay Rent" feature on the RentenPe platform, you agree to comply with the following terms and
conditions. Please read them carefully before proceeding with your payment.
1. Definitions:

Platform: Refers to the RentenPe application or website used for rent payment services.
- Landlord: Refers to the individual or entity to whom rent is legally payable.
- User: Refers to the individual using the "Pay Rent" feature for making rent payments.

Transaction Fees:
Refers to the processing or platform fees charged for using the service. Processing / platform fees
would be those levied by RentenPe. Credit Card Charges are payment gateway charges levied by Payment
Gateway.
2. Purpose of the Service:
The "Pay Rent" feature is designed solely for making rent payments to landlords. Any misuse of the feature
for payments or payment other than rent payment is strictly prohibited and may result in account suspension
or termination.
3. Payment Guidelines:

Rent payments must be made directly to the landlord's verified bank account or Virtual Payment Address
(VPA). Users are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the landlord's bank account details/VPA.

If rent is paid to an incorrect landlord's account/VPA, will not be refunded under any
circumstances. Further, any discounts offered by RentenPe will stand cancelled.

RentenPe reserves the right to verify rent agreements. If rent agreement verification is not completed
or
fails during the rent payment process, the platform will refund the rent amount; however, any
transaction fees may not be refunded.

Any payments flagged as non-rent transactions may be subject to investigation and reversal at the
platform's discretion and it is agreed that no claim or dispute shall be raised by the user.
4. Refund Processing & Penalty Clause:
- In cases where RentenPe is unable to process rent payments to the landlord due to reasons attributable
to the user, including but not limited to:
- Uploading incorrect, invalid, or falsified documents in place of a valid rent agreement;
- Failure or inability to verify the uploaded rent agreement or related documents; or

Providing incorrect, incomplete, or invalid landlord beneficiary details (such as account
number, IFSC code, or name mismatch);

RentenPe reserves the right to cancel the transaction and initiate a refund to the tenant, subject to
applicable processing fees and penalty charges.

Such penalty may include, at RentenPe's discretion, (a) a flat administrative fee and/or (b) a
percentage-based deduction from the transaction amount to cover payment gateway charges, verification
costs, and operational handling. Refunds, where applicable, will be processed only after deduction of
such charges and may take up to 7-10 working days to reflect in the user's source account.

RentenPe shall not be held liable for any delay, loss, or inconvenience caused due to user-provided
inaccuracies or non-compliance with document verification requirements.
5. Fraudulent Activities:

RentenPe has a zero-tolerance policy toward fraudulent activities. Examples of fraudulent activities
include, but are not limited to:
- Using the service to transfer funds for non-rent purposes.
- Providing false or misleading information about the recipient of the payment.
- Engaging in unauthorized use of another user's account.
- Making a payment to a friend or relative while categorizing it as rent.
- Intentionally entering incorrect landlord details to redirect funds.
- Attempting to withdraw cashback or incentives for non-rent-related payments.
- Users engaging in fraudulent activities will have their accounts permanently suspended, and legal action
shall be initiated.
- RentenPe reserves the right to monitor and verify each transactions to detect potential fraud.
6. Processing Delays Disclaimer:
- RentenPe aims to process payments in a timely manner. However, delays may occur due to external factors
such as payment gateway failures, banking network issues, or other technical disruptions.
- Users are advised to initiate rent payments well in advance of the due date to account for potential
delays.
- RentenPe is not liable for late fees or penalties imposed by landlords due to such delays.
7. User Responsibilities:
- Users must ensure that the landlord's bank account details, such as account number, IFSC code, account
holder name and VPA(UPI ID) are accurate and verified.
- RentenPe is not liable for any loss arising due to incorrect or incomplete information provided by the
user.
- Users must not attempt to manipulate the platform to avoid paying applicable transaction fees.
8. Refund Policy:
- Rent payments once processed cannot be reversed or refunded unless caused by a RentenPe system error.
- If a payment is made to an incorrect account due to user error, RentenPe is not responsible for
recovering the funds.
- Refunds will only be provided in cases where the platform is directly at fault (e.g., system errors).
- Rent amounts will be refunded in cases where rent agreement verification is not completed or fails.
9. Additional Fees and Charges:
- Depending on the bank or credit card company used for the transaction, bank or credit card company may
apply additional surcharges for rent payments.
- Users are advised to check with their respective banks or credit card companies regarding any applicable
rent-related surcharges before proceeding with the transaction.
10. General Terms and Conditions:

These terms are supplementary to the general Terms and Conditions of the RentenPe application/website
that users agreed to during onboarding/before using the RentenPe services.
- In case of any conflict, these specific terms for the "Pay Rent" feature will take precedence.
11. Security Measures:
- RentenPe uses advanced encryption and fraud detection mechanisms to ensure the safety of user
transactions.
- Users are advised not to share sensitive information, such as OTPs or passwords, with anyone.
- In case of any unauthorized activity in your account, you must report it immediately to the RentenPe
support team.
12. Dispute Resolution:

users must provide documentary proof of non-payment to initiate an investigation.

RentenPe shall act only as a mediator for the resolution of such disputes but holds no liability/
responsibility for resolving conflicts between users and landlords. Needless to mention that also not be
liable to the consequences of the same.
13. Limitation of Liability:
- RentenPe is not liable for losses or damages resulting from:
- Incorrect details provided by the user.
- Payments made for purposes other than rent.
- Unauthorized access to a user's account due to negligence/ or even otherwise
14. Amendments:
RentenPe reserves the right to update these terms and conditions at any time. Users will be notified of
significant changes via email or app notifications.

and conditions. Failure to comply may result in penalties, account suspension, or legal action.
